Music Education in Andalusia
The Barenboim-Said Foundation promotes music education in Andalusia to foster holistic development in childhood. Since 2005, we have developed an educational project that brings together programs and musical activities aimed at preschool and primary school students, with the goal of bringing music into the classrooms.
Childhood music education
A pioneering project
We are leaders in the introduction of music in the early educational stages.
The music, a subject like any other
We provide half an hour of music daily during school hours to more than two thousand boys and girls from 22 public schools in Andalusia.
The classroom as an auditorium
We prepare students to recognize sounds, rhythms, and musical structures through educational concerts.
Orchestra in primary education
A pioneering project
Students from CEIP Carmen Benítez in Seville receive weekly violin and cello classes during school hours taught by specialized teachers and coordinated with the Music subject.
Instruments for practice
The Foundation provides an instrument to each student in the final year of each instrumental specialty, promoting daily practice and personalized learning inside and outside the classroom.

Workshops and courses
Monthly music workshops at the Turina Space
Fun activities to discover instruments, explore rhythms, and get closer to different musical cultures. Andalusian percussion, cello, violin, and ukulele, as well as musical stories, are some of the proposals.
All workshops are taught by specialists and are perfect for families looking for cultural activities in Seville and short educational experiences.
Courses for Introduction to Music
An intensive 3- to 5-day experience during the school holidays, designed to introduce primary school children to different musical instruments such as percussion, piano, violin and singing.
An ideal option for families looking for musical activities during the holidays and cultural activities for children in Andalusia.
